HOME SHOW EXPO 2008 at Prairie Trail
This Craftsman Style Ranch, built by Denton Homes, invites you to ‘front porch living’ at Prairie Trail. The wrap-around porch, detailed with cedar bead board ceiling and stone columns, greets guests to a view of Precendence Park. Exterior hand crafted corbels compliment the open cedar soffit and flare detail which outline the entire home; designed to emulate the true architecture of yesteryear.

Denton Homes featured highlights include elaborate ceiling detail throughout this home…from hand laid wood plank ceilings to a fabric enclosed coffered ceiling, in addition to the barreled timber beams that span the great room into the kitchen. The kitchen is a gourmet lover’s dream with the cherry cabinets, high-end appliances and large walk-in pantry. The hearth room extends off the kitchen which is a cozy spot to relax next to the fireplace until dinner is ready. The great room integrates indoor and outdoor living through the 17’ retractable glass NanaWall into the sun porch. The sun porch invites the chef to an outdoor cooking system and fireplace for guests to enjoy views of the green space and pond that Prairie Trail offers.
The lower level delights with grand living space with multi-purpose entertainment opportunities. The stone lined billiard room highlights the signature ‘Denton ceiling billiard table’. Additional features include full cooking service wet bar, theater area and sure to capture the sport lover’s heart is the six-TV line-up! At the end of the day a retreat into the master bungalow features a see thru fireplace and a waterfall that compliments the freestanding soak tub with a spa-inspired shower offering a true relaxing escape.

Denton Homes commitment to capturing the detail of Iowa’s historic neighborhoods is aptly showcased in the craftsmanship of this home. From the tumbled stone, accompanied by 4” oak flooring, to the glazed bead boarding and tree branch emulated iron stair rail; the grand amenities are unlimited in this timeless home treasure. “We are so honored to be part of this unique Prairie Trail development, especially in here the Midwest,” says Scott Denton. Scott and his wife Stephanie have over fifteen years’ experience in the construction industry and have operated Denton Homes together for the past three years, constructing homes from $300,000 to $1,000,000 throughout the Des Moines area and Sun Valley Lake. “This concept takes us back to the architecture we have become so familiar with growing small-town Iowa,” he says. Scott grew up in the Creston area and Stephanie in Iowa Falls. “We both grew up in rural areas with neighborhoods offering these architecture styles, and we appreciate it even more now when we visit family back home.”

“In keeping with the innovative look and unique plans for housing at Prairie Trail,” Scott says “it is fun for us as the builder to explore new products and features that work to carry out the classic architecture and “green” concept these neighborhoods can offer.” Come visit Scott and Stephanie at the June Home Show Expo 2008 in Ankeny!

Single-Family Homes
“This neighborhood lifestyle is bringing us back what we feel is a strong sense of community that folks are longing for today.” Scott emphesizes It’s that neighborhood feeling that Scott and Stephanie plan to create with the homes they are building in Prairie Trail, starting off with their Craftsman Sytle Ranch home in the HomeShowExpo 2008. “We can help with every facet of the building process, from site selection through design and construction,” Scott says. “The sooner the builder gets involved, the smoother the process can be.” Denton Homes works with architects and designers to help clients create the home that blends with the comfort of their lifestyle paralleled with their dreams. “We truly enjoy working with homeowners,” Scott shares “we develop a personal relationship that lasts beyond the building process. We gain a friendship and referrals from our clients…and possibly build their next home!”
